Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Intensive Course with Boris Georgiev (July 2nd to 14th, 2016)

Bring your practice to the next Level and enrich your daily life by Yoga Practices! This intensive course aims to look deeper into the infinite wisdom of Yoga. For the Asana (bodypostures) practice we are taking the practice of Ashtanga Yoga – a Yogapractice, which is making the body and mind stronger and more flexible at the same time.

The Patanjali Yogasutras are giving us a philosophical background and practical tools to grow into a more conscious life! I like using the ancient Asanas of Yoga and explain them with the “modern” tools of Spiraldynamik®.

ASHTANGA VINYASA: TECHNICHAL YOGA ASANA WORKSHOPS

The 12 day intensive course will be divided into 3 parts. Each of it will be 3 days and we will have 2 self-practice days with a trekking – giving you the possibility to apply the collected knowledge into walking practice.

1st part: The first 3 days we will explore our practice and deepen the foundation principles of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. We will learn techniques which are helping us to be more efficient with whatever we have to do in our daily lives and to center our body and mind.

2nd part: After the first 3 days, we will have developed a practice and we will add postures from the 1st series.

3rd part: We will work on refinements and will introduce ideas from the 2nd series of Ashtanga Yoga.

This course is aiming to deepen your practice, so it is recommended that you already have some practice, but it is Ok, when you are new to Ashtanga Yoga.

In the 1st part, the experienced Ashtanga practitioners will deepen the understanding of the practice and the beginners of Ashtanga will get a short introduction.

In the 2nd part there will be self-practice in the morning suitable for all levels, as you get personal feedback. In the afternoon sessions we will add postures and discuss information you can use in your self-practice the next day.

In the 3rd part we will develop a balanced daily life practice for you at home.

ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:

  • The schedule may vary slightly during the course.

  • Yoga classes for all levels of practice.

  • Meditative Hiking: Daily 90 minute meditative walk in nature, opening the senses and developing mindfulness. There will be two days during the course which will be entirely dedicated to meditative trekking, starting just after breakfast and coming back for dinner. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the the Ordesa National Park or surrounding areas. Swim in the river, meditate or relax in nature. Those days, because of the excursion there will be a restorative yoga class in the afternoon.

  • Meditation: there will be one workshop on meditation for those who are interested in starting a meditation practice of for those who wants to refresh their practice. There will be also time for one to one sessions in case of doubts about the own practice.

  • Karma Yoga: skillfulness in action. Let yoga support us in all we do. At Casa Cuadrau, we invite you to practice karma yoga by helping in simple tasks in the house like cooking, cleaning or gardening for 1 hr./day in a mindful, bodiful, senseful integrated way.

  • Satsang is a gathering time. It starts with a time for discussion and inquiry, questions and answers based on the direct experience of all participants, followed by meditative singing to give some rest to the mind. It finishes with a silent meditation.

  • “Joyful silence”: everyday from the end of the evening Satsang up until after lunch the following morning, we cultivate joyful silence in the house. This deep silence is very healing for calming the mind and being in peace with ourselves, allowing us to deeply listen to ourselves. We will have a restful sleep and the next day we will enjoy the silence with mental clarity during our asana practice, meditation and other activities. Meals will be taken mindfully and in silence. By participating in this period of joyful silence we will be supporting each other in our practice. After lunch and throughout the afternoon we will enjoy conscious speaking and deep listening, which will allow us to get to know each other in a more authentic way.

  • All activities are optional and can be modified to suit the group. To get the most of your stay, we recommend that you participate in all scheduled activities.
